Career
Wolfgang Moringer completed his studies in 1971 at today’s Johannes Kepler University with a PhD in law. After completing the mandatory year of legal clerkship and the subsequent training as a trainee lawyer, he was admitted to the bar in 1977. Initially, his professional activity was rather widespread, with a focus on tenancy law and criminal law. From the mid-1980s onwards, a specialization in commercial and financial criminal cases began to evolve, which, however, was accompanied by a significant activity in civil law (inter alia family law and tort law). Until 2007, he practiced in smaller law firms of up to a total of four partners. In 2007, he joined Haslinger / Nagele as a partner and, together with René Haumer, built up the criminal law and white-collar crime department there. In 2020, he retired as an attorney-at-law and has been advising this department as of counsel since then.
In addition to his work as a qualified lawyer, Wolfgang Moringer spent several years at the Johannes Kepler University Linz as a lecturer for white-collar criminal law and also authors a large number of publications in specialist journals.
