Competition

Anca Diaconu is Partner and Head of NNDKP’s Competition, State Aid, EU Law and FDI practices. She has a wealth of experience advising on the full range of EU and Romanian competition law, spanning complex merger control, cartel and abuse of dominance investigations, State Aid and FDI screening, as well as competition litigation. Anca navigates competition-related aspects of cross-border transactions. She regularly assists clients with national and multi-jurisdictional merger clearance processes, FDI screening, and FSR notification strategies before the European Commission and the Romanian Competition Council. She represents clients in high-stakes investigations and litigation, with a strong track record across the technology, pharmaceutical, FMCG, automotive, and construction sectors. She also leads court strategies that have resulted in preliminary references to the CJEU and advises on market-design and compliance projects.

She has been part of the NNDKP team since 2015 and was promoted to Partner in 2022.

Anca Diaconu is fluent in English and a good speaker of French.

Anca Diaconu is a member of Bucharest Bar.

Anca Diaconu graduated from the University of Bucharest Law School in 2014. She has a Law Degree (Maitrise en Droit, Droit Européen) from Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne University, Collège Juridique Franco-Roumain d’Etudes Européennes. She also holds a master's degree in International and European Business Law from the same institution.
