Ella Tevet is Head of the Intellectual Property and Privacy Practice at the Gross & Co. law firm. Ella is an expert in various areas of intellectual property and privacy and data protection and has extensive experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial, intellectual property and tech transactions.

Ella counsels local and international clients across a range of industries, including software, internet, social media, cyber, e-commerce, as well as traditional industries, including banking and life science. Ella advises companies of all types and sizes, from early-stage start-ups, through hi-tech companies, and up to international global companies, banks, etc.

Ella works closely with lawyers of the firm’s Hi-Tech, Banking, Technology, Mergers and Acquisitions and Securities Practices in investment rounds, merger and acquisition transactions and IPOs both with respect to the conduct of IP, privacy and commercial due diligence and with respect to other strategy related matters which arise in the framework of such transactions. In addition, Ella cooperates with the firm’s Litigation Practice in the representation of her clients in various legal proceedings in the fields of intellectual property, privacy and spam law.

Ella has extensive experience in negotiating and structuring complex commercial and technological agreements involving intellectual property matters, such as licensing agreements, software agreements (such as EULA, SDK, SAAS, API) cooperation agreements, OEM agreements, source code escrow agreements, technology and intellectual property transfer agreements, development agreements and international consortium agreements. In addition, Ella has vast experience drafting and negotiating agreements involving personal information and privacy protection matters, including outsourcing agreements, DPAs and database transfer agreements. In her practice, Ella has counseled companies in prominent technology projects, which included, inter alia, development and implementation of various technology systems into core company systems, including ERP and CRM systems.

Furthermore, Ella has extensive experience providing ongoing legal services in a wide range of matters pertaining to intellectual property, privacy and information technology, including:

Advice on issues related to companies that received grants from the Israeli Innovation Authority (including with respect to transferring funded know-how outside of Israel), and on issues related to receiving permits from the Israeli Ministry of Defense for engaging in encryption means; Drafting legal contracts for websites, mobile apps and digital platforms (such as terms of use and privacy policy), as well as advising regarding website accessibility compliance matters; Advice regarding the use of open source components; Counseling on matters relating to privacy protection laws in Israel, Europe and the U.S. (such as handling GDPR compliance projects and advising regarding COPPA compliance), data security, Spam Law, database registration and management, cyber, etc. Advice on trademark, patents, copyright and trade secret violations, filing trademark registration applications, and handling procedures vis-à-vis Israeli Trademark Registrar, protection of domain names and protection of various intellectual property rights developed under various relationships, including employer-employee relationship, and IP developed by service providers (including with respect to parallel employment by third parties, such as academic institutes).
