Career

Megan Moerdijk, a partner in the trade mark prosecution group, is an experienced trade mark practitioner with a specialisation in African trade mark searching, filing and prosecution.  Prior to joining Adams & Adams she served as the Assistant Registrar of Trade Marks (South Africa) and now has over 25 years post-qualification experience, most of which has been in managing large portfolios for international as well as local clients, throughout Africa.  She has been instrumental in growing the awareness of IP protection on the continent, having also been involved in legislative discussions in countries with developing systems.  She graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand with a Bachelor of Arts (Law and English) in 1985 and with a Bachelor of Laws from the same university in 1989.  Moerdijk is a member of the Legal Practice Council and a fellow and former lecturer of the Institute of Intellectual Property Law (SAIIPL).
