Career

Roxana Ionescu joined RTPR in 2007. Roxana has experience in advising international companies on commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, competition and labour law in Romania, as well as on data protection matters. Roxana has extensive experience in providing assistance in the merger clearance proceedings, as well as in relation to the investigations undergone by the Romanian Competition Council. Roxana offers day to day competition advice to clients and assist them in implementing competition compliance programs. Roxana has advised MidEuropa Partners on the EUR 1.3 billion sale of Profi to Ahold Delhaize; Regina Maria on the acquisition of a 51% stake in the stomatology clinics chain Dr. Leahu; Jean Valvis on the sale of a 20% stake in AQUA Carpatica to PepsiCo; Meridiam SAS on entering Netcity Telecom’s shareholding; Enterprise Investors on the sale of Profi supermarket chain to Mid Europa Partners; DS Smith Plc group on the acquisition of EcoPack and EcoPaper, two major producers of packaging and paper products on the Romanian market; Centrul Medical Unirea (the healthcare services provider “Regina Maria”) and Mid Europa Partners on the acquisition of Ponderas Hospital; Advent International Corporation on the sale of Centrul Medical Unirea (the healthcare services provider “Regina Maria”) to Mid Europa Partners; MOL Romania Petroleum Products in the complex antitrust investigation carried out by Romanian Competition Council against the six major oil companies active in Romania and afterwards in the court proceedings against the decision of the authority and Aegon Fond de Pensii, managers of mandatory private pension funds (pillar II), in the course of complex investigation procedures carried out by the Romanian Competition Council against 14 Romanian pension funds.

Roxana Ionescu is fluent in English and competent in French.

Roxana Ionescu is a qualified Romanian lawyer, registered with the Bucharest Bar. She is also a member of the National Union of Bar Associations.

Education

Roxana Ionescu graduated from the University of Bucharest, Law Faculty in 2007. Roxana holds a PG Diploma from King’s College London in EU Competition Law.
