Position

Gabriel Zbarcea is Managing Partner at Tuca Zbârcea & Asociatii. His practice focuses on corporate and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions/privatisations, and energy and natural resources. He has considerable experience in assisting Romanian and foreign companies in international joint ventures and corporate restructuring; and he has acted, as coordinator, in major industry mergers and acquisitions and privatisations deals, as well as in complex projects in the electricity, oil, gas and mining sectors. He also specializes in property law and the financial and security aspects of real estate transactions. In addition to his legal background, Gabriel Zbarcea honed his skills and talents in the public sector while working within the Cabinet of the Romanian Prime-Minister and the Romanian Privatization Agency – the Authority for State Assets Recovery (AVAS) (Romania's privatisation authority). As such, he was in charge of the recovery of banking assets, the implementation of the government's strategy to conclude the privatisation process of all companies in which the Romanian state holds interests and which are in the authority's portfolio, the management of the state's interests in such companies.
