Sayenko Kharenko has acted as legal counsel to DTEK Renewables, which manages DTEK projects in renewable energy, on construction of Primorskaya Wind Electric Plant LLC (Primorskaya WEP) with a capacity of 200 MW. DTEK Renewables is currently one of the largest producers of renewable electric energy in Ukraine and accounts for about 10% of “green” capacities market.

On 27 February 2019, took place a successful launch of the first wind turbines of Primorskaya WEP in Zaporizhzhya Region with the participation of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. The project of Primorskaya WEP started in 2011. In 2014, it was suspended in connection with the difficult economic and political situation in the country and resumed in 2017. The commissioning of Primorskaya WEP, with a capacity of 200 MW, is expected in autumn 2019. The wind park will consist of 52 wind turbines produced by GE company.

Sayenko Kharenko’s team advised on the execution of agreements for the supply and installation of wind turbines by GE and on specific issues related to the execution of an agreement on the supply of equipment for Primorskaya WEP substations by GE Grid, as well as provided legal support during negotiations with the counterparty.

Primorskaya WEP is the second project of DTEK Renewables in the wind energy. Each year, the WEP will produce 650-700 million kWh of “green” electricity. Thanks to the work of Primorskaya WEP, emissions savings of CO2 into the atmosphere will be 650-700 thousand tons annually by reducing the loading of traditional generation enterprises.

The Sayenko Kharenko team was led by counsel  Maryna Hritsyshyna under the general supervision of partner Nazar Chernyavsky.
