Position

Partner and Head of the Energy department, Dan Hacohen is one of Israel's most prominent energy lawyers. With more than 25 years' experience in the energy sector, clients strongly benefit from his immense knowledge drawn from his represenatation of the project partners in all of the significant gas discoveries in Israel over the last decade, and, in recent years, his involvement in transactions valued at more than $50 billion.

His highlights include, inter alia, the $2 billion 144A bond offering for partners in the Tamar gas field (the largest ever Israeli bond offering of its kind), bridge financing in relation to the Leviathan field in 2011, the 2010 Tamar bridge development financing and the 2005 144A bond offering for the Yam Tethys project (the first ever international project finance bond offering for an Israeli infrastructure project). Furthermore, Dan represented the State of Israel in the privatization of four state owned energy companies.

With a focus on finance, capital markets and mergers & acquisitions, he is also involved in M&A transactions, having advised on a merger in the pharmaceutical industry, the first merger of its kind in Israel, and the purchase of a controlling interest in the biggest telecommunications company in Israel.
