Thamer is an experienced Omani lawyer who specializes in various areas of law, including M&A, capital markets, banking & finance, corporate finance, corporate structures, oil and gas, corporate structuring and restructuring, and regulatory. He has been a qualified Omani lawyer with the Ministry of Justice in the Sultanate of Oman for 13 years. Thamer received his LL.B. from the University of Sharjah in the UAE and his LL.M. in International Corporate Finance from the University of Reading in the UK. Additionally, he holds a Legal Project Practitioner (LPP) certification from the International Institute of Legal Project Management (IILPM).

Thamer has been with Said Al-Shahry & Partners (SASLO) for 13 years, where he began as an Associate in 2009 and became a Partner in 2018, his current position. He is currently the Head of Disputes and a team member in the Corporate and Projects departments. Thamer has extensive experience dealing with Ministries and other Omani authorities.

Thamer's recent transactions include advising various clients on acquisitions, mergers, and share purchases in industries such as banking, insurance, telecommunications, and energy.
