Career

Professor Dědič is a member of the Legislative Council of the Czech Government and the Ministry of Justice’s Commission for the Application of New Civil Legislation. He was involved in creating the new Corporations Act, which constitutes one of the fundamental pillars of the re-enactment of Czech private law.

Professor Dědič was named Lawyer of the Year 2006 in the business law category in the Právník roku (Lawyer of the year) awards organized by the Czech Bar Association and ePravo.cz. In a survey provided by Czech business daily Hospodářské noviny (March 2007), Professor Dědič was identified as one of the five most influential Czech lawyers.

Professor Dědič is one of the most respected Czech experts in business law, e.g. securities and capital markets, corporate law, including concern law, mergers and acquisitions and insolvency law, including reorganization. In addition, he also specializes in public law regulation of financial institutions, investment funds and companies and collective investment along with contract law.

In addition to long-term experience in providing expertise for public institutions (for example, the Ministry of Industry and Trade to interpret the Trade Act), Professor Dědič is the author of numerous publications, commentaries, textbooks and scientific texts. He also has extensive experience with lecturing and other educational activities.
