Career
Sylvie Sobolová is a partner at Kocián Šolc Balaštík, specialising in public procurement, state aid, competition law, selected areas of intellectual property law, and dispute resolution including litigation and arbitration. Her cross-disciplinary expertise and strategic approach make her a sought-after advisor for both public and private sector clients operating in highly regulated environments.
She has represented major energy companies in international investment arbitration proceedings before the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), as well as non-profit organisations and other clients in administrative and court proceedings arising from investigations and audits by the European Commission and European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF).
Sylvie has acted for clients in proceedings before the Czech Competition Authority and administrative courts regarding alleged anticompetitive conduct in public tendering. Her experience also includes representing an airline in a dispute over unlawful state aid and a municipality in litigation concerning damages related to a local referendum.
In the public procurement field, she advises on high-stakes infrastructure and energy projects, including for Plzeň municipal transport companies and the Radioactive Waste Repository Authority. She also supports clients from the energy, gas, automotive, and pharmaceutical industries on regulatory compliance, selective distribution systems, and direct sales models.
Sylvie has been named among the Top 100 Women in Czech Legal Business three times by the #PRVNICH100LET initiative, recognising her as one of the country’s most influential legal professionals.
