Charlotte Knappett is Head of Family and Partner specialising in many areas including divorce, finances arising from divorce, private law children matters, child abduction, special guardianship, domestic abuse and fertility law. Charlotte has also conducted International Child Abduction cases, representing clients in the Royal Courts of Justice.

Career

Trained FJG 2003-05; qualified 2005; solicitor FJG (family) 2005-13; partner FJG 2013 to date; Head of Family 2024 – date; Office manager of Chelmsford branch 2010-2018. Founded FLOC (Future Lawyers of Colchester) 2009-2013 now continues with the new generation FLOCC (including Chelmsford) 2013 onwards. Outreach office and Women’s refuge drop in from 2007 – 2011 and from time to time thereafter. Board of Trustees Chelmsford YMCA 2013-2015. Established the SAFE Forum (Support Agencies for Families in Essex) to enable us all agencies to meet regularly and share information 2013-2018. President, Mid Essex law Society 2015 to date.

Kingston University 1998 -2001 Law LLB (Hons); College of Law, London 2003 -2004 LPC Distinction.

Leisure

Previously rowed for university and then competitive cross country and marathon running. Charlotte now trains and competes in the sport of CrossFit.
