Career

Gerard leads the EU and Competition Law team at RocaJunyent’s Madrid office. He is an expert in anti-competitive practices, merger control, claims for damages and unfair competition, as well as regulatory matters in a wide range of sectors, including energy, health, telecommunications and transport.

In addition to his activity as a lawyer, the partner is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Association for the Defence of Competition, which he presided between 2018 and 2021. He is also a non-governmental advisor to the National Commission on Markets and Competition (CNMC) for the Advocacy and Cartels working groups of the International Competition Network (ICN).

He is also a distinguished academic. Since 2006, he has been a lecturer in Competition Law at the Master’s Degree in Business Law and the Master’s Degree in Access to the Legal Profession at the University of Navarra, as well as a lecturer in Contract Law and the Moot Court course at the Université de Poitiers, since 2010.

In his more than 20 years of professional experience, Gerard Pérez was the partner in charge of Competition at DWF-RCD, in 2008 founded the legal boutique Gold Abogados, and has also practised at the firms DLA Piper, SJ Berwin and B. Cremades & Asociados.
