Over the span of the past four decades he has handled vital commercial issues in the pharmaceutical domain, some of which are considered major milestones in the global pharmaceutical industry. Baruch’s legal work encompasses all the commercial, scientific and legal elements involved in the pharmaceutical field. One of many testimonies to his work capacity is his close involvement and counsel in the Smith Kline Beecham merger with Glaxo Wellcome, one of the largest mergers in pharmaceutical history, which conceived the biggest pharmaceutical company in the world at that time. Baruch’s knowledge and proficiency span across all the commercial aspects required for the operations of pharmaceutical companies, starting with research and development, through commercial agreements and antitrust, to litigation and representation in court. Aside from providing comprehensive legal services to some of the largest and most prominent pharmaceutical companies in the world, Baruch is widely known for his strategic activity in this industry, utilizing his long-standing professional experience. Demonstrating this ability is his membership of the Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center Institutional Review Board (Helsinki Committee), which is responsible for clinical trials and has an overall crucial impact on the future of the pharmaceutical market. In addition, he serves as the legal counsel for "Pharma Israel", an umbrella organization of pharmaceutical source companies in Israel, which incorporates dozens of Israeli and international pharmaceutical enterprises. Furthermore, Baruch formerly served in a number of senior managerial positions in various pharmaceutical companies, including Marketing Manager of Teva’s Pharmaceutical Division.
