Position

Consultant at SRS with over 45 years of experience, Manuel Lopes Porto has in-depth knowledge of Competition Law and the European Union, and is an opinion-leader in this area.

He was Chairman of the Portuguese Comissão de Coordenação da Região Centro, Conselho Nacional do Plano, Comissão de Reforma Fiscal and Conselho Nacional de Educação, as well as of the European Community Studies Associations, the Coimbra Municipal Assembly and the General Assemblies of ANA, Aeroporto e Navegação Aérea and Caixa Geral de Depósitos. Manuel was also a MP of the European Parliament, a member of the University Council of the Jean Monnet Action and a Professor at the Faculty of Law of Coimbra University, Lusíada University and Bissaya Barreto Institute.

Manuel holds an Oxford degree and is a member of the International Federation of European Law, the Portuguese Fiscal Association and the Interuniversity Association for European Studies.
