Berlin, 14 February 2024 - Raue has advised the Turin and Berlin-based technology start-up Tau ACT GmbH ("Tau") on an extension of the Series B financing round (Series B extension) with a volume of EUR 11 million. This time, CDP Venture Capital and Santander Alternative Investments joined Tau as new lead investors. CDP Venture Capital is an asset management company that manages 13 investment funds with a total volume of over EUR 3 billion that support young companies in all phases of their life cycle. Santander Alternative Investments, part of Santander Asset Management, manages alternative investment funds with EUR 2 billion of capital.

Tau has established itself as an innovative supplier to the automotive industry, setting a new global standard for winding wire for e-mobility. Tau reached a major commercial milestone when its wire products completed the validation processes of several automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers in Europe, Asia and North America. Tau is currently expanding its production capacities and preparing for CO2-neutral production of winding wire in Italy.

Raue advised Tau comprehensively on all legal issues in connection with the financing round. Raue had already comprehensively advised the startup in its Series A and B financing rounds in 2020, 2021 and 2023.

About Tau

Tau focuses on automotive, energy and agricultural applications, making protective coatings for copper, aluminum and steel wire more durable, resistant and lightweight. Tau's DryCycle and LILIT technologies meet the demands of the automotive electric industry for ever smaller, lighter, yet more powerful and reliable electric motors. The DryCycle technology offers higher performance, better sustainability and greater wire reliability. By using only solvent-free polymers, DryCycle reduces the production of harmful volatile organic compounds during the coating process, thereby lowering carbon dioxide emissions.
