About

‘In-depth knowledge of the market sectors in which our clients do business and the challenges they face forms the basis of our advice. We achieve the best possible solutions for them within often very tight margins.’

Straatman Koster advocaten was formed in 2006 by Thijs Straatman and Wilfried Koster, both originally from Houthoff Buruma. The firm has grown steadily and now has a team of 24 lawyers and six secretaries, all of whom have previously worked for the larger law firms in the Netherlands.

Although as a niche firm we are among the smaller law firms, we are among the leaders in our field.

Besides in-depth expertise in property matters, both domestic and international (drafting property contracts, financing and cooperative structures), we also specialize in:

  • procurement law
  • state aid law
  • construction law
  • landlord and tenancy law
  • environmental law (including land development)
  • general administrative law
  • compulsory purchase

We advise, draft contracts and litigate in all these areas of law. We also have in-house expertise in preparing the tax structures for transactions and coordinating these with tax lawyers.

We have working agreements with several tax lawyers and civil-law notaries which allows us to provide comprehensive legal, notarial and tax advice should you so require.

Besides the construction and property sector our clients can also be found in the following sectors:

  • infrastructure, groundwork, road and hydraulic engineering, industry
  • energy, government
  • facilities services
  • transport, including public transport
  • sports and leisure

We also count several international property investors among our clients.
