Position

Nancy is a partner in the Civil Liberties & Human Rights team and is recognised as a leader in the fields of civil liberties and human rights, actions against the police and prison law. Nancy acts for families bereaved by deaths in custody or state care, prisoners, those who have suffered injustice by public authorities. She has particular expertise in acting for people with learning disabilities who have suffered an abuse of their rights whilst detained or in the care of the State. Nancy is experienced in public law and claims for judicial review. She has expertise on inquests and public inquiries, having been instructed in the Grenfell Tower Public Inquiry. She has acted for Humanists UK in their intervention in right to die case. She has also acted for bereaved families and survivors of Hillsborough in the misfeasance litigation.
