Moldova
In 2024, Moldova’s GDP amounted to approx. USD 18.145 billion, a slight increase compared to 2023. The 2022 drought was one of the factors that contributed to the decrease of the GDP, leading to a 25.8% reduction of the gross added value of the agricultural sector to the GDP and an overall 2.7% GDP decrease. The economy grew by 2.2% in the first half of 2024 due to recoveries in domestic trade, production and a substantial recovery in the energy sector, which recorded double-digit growth after the 2023 energy crisis.
