CHANGES TO THE ROMANIAN PHARMACY LAW
The most relevant changes brought by Law no. 243/2020 are summarised herein below.
- New exceptions from the obligation to sell medicines on a retail basis
- Transfer of medicines in the records of a pharmaceutical unit
- Legal means to challenge the decisions regarding the non-conformity of the pharmacy’s premises
- Easing the self-suspension procedure of the pharmacies’ activity
- Milder sanctioning regime for minor offences under the Pharmacy Law
- selling of prescription or over the counter medicines or preparing medicines without holding operation license issued by the Ministry of Health;
- possession or release in druggist’s shops of certain medicines the possession and release of which are prohibited in druggist’s shops;
- carrying out by pharmacies of other activities than those provided by law; and
- selling over the counter medicines by using means of the information society without observing the Pharmacy Law requirements or without holding operation license.
