Ada is a member of Volciuc-Ionescu’s Corporate/M&A team, with a strong focus on renewable energy projects and ESG, and she co-heads the firm’s Sustainability and ESG practice. Her experience includes a wide array of domestic and cross-border projects, particularly in the fields of renewable energy, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance across various sectors. Her expertise primarily centers around guiding clients interested in the energy sector seeking to enter the Romanian market. Ada’s main focus is to assist clients interested in technologies of the future and sustainable development to navigate complex legal and regulatory landscapes in the pursuit of environmentally responsible projects. Recently, Ada assisted a renowned global renewable energy producer in their acquisition of multiple Romanian companies active in the wind energy sector, a prominent global renewable energy company in the acquisition of full ownership in several solar parks in Romania, a leading corporation active in the sustainable building materials industry for their acquisition of a 100% stake in a major Romanian manufacturer, as well as environmental assistance to energy companies engaged in offshore oil and gas operations in the Black Sea. Diana Tudor-Ionescu

Diana is a Partner at Volciuc-Ionescu, with a particular focus on real estate, as well as cross-border banking and finance and capital markets and she advises both domestic and international clients active in the real estate, energy, financial services and automotive sectors. Ranked as a rising star in the legal directories, Diana has strong expertise in the property-related aspects in the energy sector, in particular renewable energy and oil&gas, being involved in a number of domestic and cross-border transactions, coordinating legal due diligence investigations, assisting clients in securing land rights for the purpose of developing projects, drafting and negotiating transaction documentation and assisting with the pre- and post-completion work. She assists clients with all aspects of Romanian real estate across a broad spectrum of transactions, with an emphasis on renewable energy projects and property finance, including acquisitions, disposals and development. Diana also offers advice to banks, financial institution and corporate borrowers on finance transactions across multiple sectors, including debt capital markets, corporate finance, acquisition finance, property finance, derivatives transactions, industrials, energy and natural resources, technology and real estate. Ramona heads the corporate / M&A and energy teams. Ramona specialises in mergers and acquisitions, with a particular emphasis on the energy and natural resources sector, in Central and Eastern Europe. She dealt with numerous multi-jurisdictional transactions acting on all sides and gained in-depth experience in mergers, domestic and cross-border acquisitions, restructuring and reorganizations, joint ventures, strategic alliances and private equity transactions, as well as regulatory matters. Recent relevant experience includes advising some of the world largest oil&gas companies in relation to petroleum agreements, including concessions, joint operating agreements, farm-in and farm-out agreements, services agreements, licensing and other regulatory requirements for their operations in Romania, advising a world leading utility on the acquisition of several wind farms, photovoltaic plants and biomass projects in Romania, advising a world leading energy group on electricity regulatory and commercial issues, advising a leading regional bank on energy related matters in connection with granting of financing for construction of renewable projects in Romania. Prior to founding Volciuc-Ionescu, Ramona headed the energy team of an international law firm in Bucharest, worked for a leading Austrian law firm in Bucharest and Vienna, and for Lehman Brothers in London.
