Position
Josh is a Director and Solicitor who specialises in Commercial Litigation and has developed expertise in Property Litigation. He is recognised in the Legal 500 2024 Directory and is a renowned specialist in his area of law, currently managing the Property Litigation Division of the Dispute Resolution Team at Talbots Law. Josh prides himself on giving clients pragmatic and commercial advice whilst keeping in mind clients’ objectives from the outset. Josh predominantly deals with Commercial Litigation acting for commercial clients in complex Multi-Track disputes in the County Court and High Court.
Some of Josh’s areas of expertise include:
Advising on all aspects of Commercial Property Litigation to include advising both Landlords and Tenants on Lease Renewals, Possession Proceedings, Forfeiture and Relief from Forfeiture, bringing and defending claims for interim and terminal Dilapidations, Breach of Covenants and the service of Landlord and Tenant Act Notices to include Section 25, 26 and 27 Notices pursuant to the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 and 146 Notices pursuant to the Law of Property Act 1925. Advising on all aspects of Residential Landlord and Tenant Disputes to include repossessions.Josh also receives instructions and advises on: Contractual / Breach of Contract Claims and Disputes; Negligence and Professional Negligence Disputes; Insolvency matters to include the service of and contesting of statutory demands, bankruptcy petitions and winding-up; Defamation disputes (Libel and Slander); Injunctions and urgent applications.Some of Josh’s recent work includes:
Acting for a Defendant in a multi-party reported High Court claim for a sum of £616,088.00 which was successfully disposed of due to arguments advanced on behalf of our client in respect of the Claimant’s procedural irregularities; Settling a complex lease renewal acting against a household telecoms provider; Securing Summary Judgment for a Community Interest Charity in respect of interference with property and unjust enrichment in the sum of £101,459.26; Obtaining Summary Judgment for a sum in excess of £121,000 plus costs for a Property Development Company in respect of Commercial Rent Arrears.Career
Josh qualified as a Solicitor in August 2017 joined the Dispute Resolution team at Talbots Law in 2018. After several promotions, Josh was appointed a Director in 2023.
Education
Josh graduated with First Class Honours in Law before attending the University of Law to complete his Legal Practice Course, and qualified as a Solicitor in August 2017.
