Alan Zeal

Alan is a partner in the firm’s Corporate and Commercial team and has over 20 years’ experience of buying and selling businesses, both large and small (including the unusual). He has particular experience of leading large project teams effectively to manage and complete complex corporate transactions.Alan’s clients Alan works closely with both sellers and buyers on business and share sales and purchases, whether as one-off transactions or as part of a wider corporate strategy.

Alistair Rustemeyer

Alistair is Partner and a member of the firm’s Dispute Resolution Team in Brighton & Hove. He specialises in high value cross-border litigation with a particular focus on and strong knowledge of claims involving wills, trusts and estates where the tracing and recovery of trust assets out of the jurisdiction often plays a pivotal role. Alistair advises on all aspects of claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family & Dependants) Act 1975. Alistair works alongside other members of the firm to maintain strong links with colleagues in Europe as part of the firm’s membership to Eurojuris, a leading network of independent law firms with members based in 650 different cities/locations in about 50 countries worldwide.

Angela Arnold

Angela is Partner and Head of Rix & Kay's Residential Property Team that covers Kent and Sussex. She is regularly praised by clients and peers for her outstanding client care and professional approach.Angela’s clients Angela deals with the entire range of property sales and purchases and has particular expertise in advising medium to high net worth individuals, property investors and divorced or separated individuals who may need to manage property assets both efficiently and quickly.

Bruce Clarke

Bruce leads Rix & Kay’s private client offering in Sevenoaks. With eleven years’ experience of advising individuals on how to effectively manage their personal wealth, he has a detailed understanding of personal tax planning, creation of trusts and the administration of estates. Bruce’s clients Bruce works closely with high net-worth individuals, business owners and families, helping them to grow and protect their personal wealth and assets for the benefit of themselves, their families and successive generations. He also works with trustees and executors who are responsible for managing and dealing with complex trusts and estates.

Ian Best

Ian is Head of Rix & Kay’s Probate Team based in Uckfield and a member of Rix & Kay’s Wills and Estate Planning Team.  He has many years experience advising individuals about Wills, Personal Tax, Estates and Inheritance Tax Planning.  He is a member of the Society of Estate Practitioners, Solicitors for the Elderly and the Private Client Section of the Law Society.

Janet Raeburn

Janet is Partner and a specialist family and divorce lawyer in Sussex with significant experience in providing advice on all legal aspects of divorce and separation to clients across the South East. As a key member of the firm’s dedicated Family law team based in Uckfield, she has a particular expertise in managing and negotiating complex financial settlements and resolving disputes relating to all aspects of a child’s life and disputes involving significant property assets.Janet’s Clients Janet supports clients from all backgrounds who want a supportive and highly responsive family and divorce lawyer by their side. In particular, Janet works with spouses, civil partners and cohabitees who need advice on a wide range of relationship issues including child and complex financial matters. She also supports individuals who have separated from marriage and need to be guided through a divorce, whether that be under amicable or more difficult circumstances.

Max is a Partner in Rix & Kay’s Wills, Estate Planning & Trusts Team based in Brighton & Hove. He has many years experience advising individuals and their families about personal tax, estate and succession planning. He is a member of both the Society of Estate Practitioners and Solicitors for the Elderly.Max’s clients Max acts for clients of all ages and backgrounds but has particular expertise in guiding business owners and senior directors who want to ensure an orderly succession to their business interests, at minimal tax cost, as they start to consider stepping back from running day-to-day operations. He regularly advises business owners on ways to structure their wills to take advantage of the very generous Inheritance Tax reliefs for business assets.

Richard Cripps

Richard is Managing Partner of Rix & Kay and a specialist commercial property lawyer based in Kent and a member of Rix & Kay’s Leadership Team responsible for the continued growth of the firm. With over 25 years experience in commercial property in Ashford, Sevenoaks and throughout the South East, he works with some of the firm’s most important clients, helping them to manage their commercial property interests to deliver both sustainable revenue streams and a sound base for successful business operations.

Richard Ludlow

Richard is Partner and a specialist insolvency, debt recovery and commercial litigation lawyer based in Sevenoaks and Ashford. Richard was previously in private practice before moving in-house and working at the Insolvency Service and the Treasury Solicitor where he was involved with investigating and disqualifying directors who were found to have traded their companies fraudulently. During his time working for the government he gained a large number of skills which he has used to the benefit of his clients since moving back into private practice.Richard’s clients Richard works with individuals, companies, Insolvency Practitioners and accountants to assist them in seeking to recover monies they, or those they represent, are owed. However, Richard also represents individuals who are being targeted by Insolvency Practitioners, amongst others, and assists them in either defeating the claim or to negotiate the best outcome for their individual circumstances.
