About

The firm: The practice of Kraaijeveld Coppus Legal was formed in 2008 and re-branded to KC Legal in 2013 when Ceriel Coppus joined Friggo Kraaijeveld as a partner. The partners of KC Legal have gained their working experience with ‘big four’ accounting firms and leading Dutch law firms. This background gives the firm the legal expertise as tax attorneys while at the same time having a fundamental understanding of accounting matters as well as the economic principles underlying any business. The combination of tax law and accounting expertise is a condition for any tax practice that desires to advise on international business-related tax matters. The international tax practice has been transformed over the last few years since the first BEPS proposals in 2013 and KC Legal made the decision to add to its already existing tax advisory practice, international tax dispute resolutions and tax compliance services in order to service clients with their international tax reporting obligations (including tax returns, tax accounting, country by country reporting, master/local files and CRS/FATCA reporting).

The firm’s expertise led KC Legal to be selected as a contributor to the annual report Getting the Deal Through – Tax on Inbound Investments, the official research partner of the International Bar Association and as a dedicated contributor to the Dutch tax chapter of International Corporate Procedures, a Jordan Publishing expert reading.

As a member of the established international referral networks IR Global and Nextlaw Global Referral Network, KC Legal can further offer global reach to its clients at that same level of expertise their clients have become acquainted to.

What further separates KC Legal from other tax boutiques is that KC Legal is one of the very few that is recognised by the Dutch Bar Association (Nederlandse Orde van Advocaten or NOvA), the official self-regulatory body for Dutch attorneys.

Areas of practice: KC Legal offers tax advisory services for international corporate groups, private equity funds and high-net-worth individuals with cross-border operations. KC Legal’s team of international tax specialists consists of experienced tax lawyers and tax attorneys, who provide a hands-on approach and are fully equipped to tackle the tax challenges of internationally operating enterprises. The tax advisory team is headed by Friggo Kraaijeveld and Ceriel Coppus.

KC Legal’s tax dispute resolution practice is headed by Friggo Kraaijeveld and assisted by Lisette Kamysheva. The international tax dispute resolution practice not only includes post-fact tax litigation in the Netherlands, EU or any other jurisdiction, but also includes the pre-tax fact dispute avoidance through tax ruling negotiations.

KC Legal’s international tax advisory and tax dispute team is complemented by a strong tax compliance practice, which provides corporate income tax return and tax accounting services, country by country reporting, master and local file compilation and CRS/FATCA reporting. KC Legal’s tax compliance practice is headed by Timo Ponsioen and Ceriel Coppus.
