The firm: Almain is an independent law firm, based in Paris, offering expertise and comprehensive legal services in business law, including legal advice and litigation, to its French and foreign clients. The firm stems from the relationship developed by a team of dynamic, experienced and united lawyers in a large international French firm. The firm was founded in 2015 by Cécile Davanne-Mortreux, Jérôme Debost, Thomas Fleinert-Jensen and Edgard Nguyen. The following year, to meet its clients’ needs in certain areas of law such as IP/IT, competition or insolvency, and to sustain its growth, Almain hired three more partners. In 2021, in order to extend its practice, Almain hirer a real estate specialist sharing the same DNA.

Areas of practice: Almain is a full-service law firm, offering a broad range of legal services (M&A, corporate, HR and employment, commercial contracts, competition, litigation, IP/IT, data protection, insolvency, public law, real estate, environmental law, tax, etc) and the standards of an international law firm.

International drive is part of the very DNA of Almain and its teams. The firm regularly acts on behalf of foreign clients in relation to their operations in France, or as a local counsel for foreign firms, in particular on due diligence matters. In return, the firm also supports its clients around the world in their international development. 30% of the work of Almain is for foreign clients or on international matters.

Almain’s broad expertise in business law allows it to assist clients on all their strategic and sensitive matters eg: setting up a subsidiary in France, implementing a distribution network, restructuring a group, handling complex litigation, tax structuring, advising on data transfer outside or within the EU, doing environmental due diligence, etc.

With a track record of more than 300 transactions, the M&A team can assist on any type of sale, acquisition or joint venture, both in France and abroad, involving listed and non-listed companies, strategic assets or activities. The M&A team also relies on the support of the firm’s other experts (notably in employment law, tax, environmental law, merger control,  IP/IT, data protection or real estate) to provide an integrated and effective approach to all issues likely to arise during a deal.
