Career

Costas has extensive experience in corporate, commercial, finance and shipping law matters and associated litigation. He has been a member of the shipping committee of the Cyprus Bar Association since 2010 and also acts as a visiting lecturer at a local university. He is a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner.

Advising a leading international bank on the debt restructuring of a major Cyprus based ship owner and operator Advising the receiver of a group of companies in relation to preferential payments and sale of assets Acting for a client in multi-million debt recovery and ship arrest proceedings Acting as local counsel of the Cyprus arm of a global container and logistics conglomerate and advising on disputes concerning the carriage of goods by sea. Acting for a marine insurer in collision proceedings Acting for a Swiss-based shipowner in relation to corporate and finance matters and registration of the fleet under the Cyprus flag Acting for a bidder in the tender process for the privatization of the port of Limassol Advising leading banks and financial institutions on finance, debt restructuring and securitisation Advising on shareholder agreements and shareholder disputes Advising in relation to commercial matters and disputes including the issuance of Mareva injunctions Advising on white-collar crime including the tracing and freezing of assets Advising in matters concerning financial institutions under special resolution
