Career

David is Counsel in the Dispute Resolution Department at ADG Legal’s Abu Dhabi office. He has over a decade’s experience resolving complex disputes, both in the English high court and in the major international arbitration institutions such as the ICC, LCIA, DIAC, and UNCITRAL.

He has represented corporations, national oil companies, government entities, and ultra-high-net-worth individuals in a range of commercial disputes arising in the Middle East, the UK, Europe, Australasia, and the Far East. He has also acted against sovereign states in the enforcement of arbitration awards, and in expert determinations arising under treaty between sovereign states.

David has worked on some of the most high-profile, high value cases to come before the English high court in recent times, including representing a Russian national in defence of a £2 billion freezing injunction brought by agents of the Russian state, a well-known figure in the crypto industry in claims worth more than £10 billion, a UK government entity in defence of a multi-billion pound procurement claim, and a Russian state-owned entity in defence of a £13 billion claim.

As well as representing clients during litigation, David also advises clients on how to avoid litigation.

David has previously worked at King & Spalding, Herbert Smith Freehills, and CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang. He graduated top of his class in law and won the Drapers’ Company Prize for academic excellence.
