Anneleen Steeno
Anneleen Steeno
Anneleen Steeno studied law at the KU Leuven, graduating in 2002 as Master of Laws. During her final year of law school, she spent 6 months at the Northwestern University School of Law (Chicago). In the same year, she became member of the Brussels Bar and started her career at the law firm Eubelius, where she focused on corporate and securities law, and mergers and acquisitions. In 2005-2006, Anneleen studied at Stanford Law School where she earned a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Corporate Governance and Practice. She subsequently worked for law firm Fenwick & West LLP in Silicon Valley (USA), where she was involved in various venture capital deals. After her studies and work experience in the US, Anneleen returned to Eubelius as a senior associate. From 2007 to 2013, Anneleen was also a part-time teaching assistant within the team of Professor Koen Geens at the Jan Ronse Institute at the KU Leuven, giving tutorials in corporate law. Anneleen joined Curia in February 2008, where she became a partner in 2012. She co-founded intui in 2013. Anneleen has wide experience in mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions (real estate acquisitions and project development) and shareholders’ agreements. She also advises on general corporate law issues. She has proven expertise in non-profit law and cooperative entrepreneurship.
Bert Vanderheiden
Bert Vanderheiden
Bert Vanderheiden graduated in 2021 from KU Leuven as Master of Laws, where he specialized in economic and tax law. After his law studies, he obtained an Advanced Master’s degree in Corporate Law at the KU Leuven, while already working at intui. He joined the Brussels Bar and started working full-time for intui in September 2022.
Caroline Hotterbeekx
Caroline Hotterbeekx
Caroline Hotterbeekx graduated from KU Leuven in 2004 as Master of Laws. She spent her final year of law school studying at the University of Montpellier. In 2008, Caroline obtained her Advanced Master’s degree in Corporate Law at the KU Brussel. After graduating from KU Leuven, Caroline joined the Leuven Bar in 2004. In 2013, she participated in the creation of intui. Caroline is an experienced advisor in litigation-matters and transaction within the corporate and commercial field. She has particular expertise in company disputes between shareholders and/or directors, conflicts within a company after divorce and post-acquisition disputes. She has written several articles about corporate dispute resolution. Her practice covers all aspects of business law, including provision of advice and dispute resolution regarding distribution agreements and trade intermediaries, competition and debt recoveries, both in Belgium and in an international context. She handles cases in Dutch, English and French.
Ellen Gijsen
Ellen Gijsen
Ellen Gijsen graduated as a master in economics, law and business administration from KU Leuven in July 2022. During this program, Ellen also studied at Université Jean Moulin Lyon III in France as part of Erasmus+. In July 2023, she obtained her master’s degree in law, specializing in economic and tax law, also at KU Leuven. During the final year of her studies, she already worked for intui as a student. In September 2023, Ellen joined the Brussels Bar. Since then, she has been a full-time member of the intui team.
Eyman Yourin
Eyman Yourin
Eyman Yourin graduated in July 2021 as Master of Law at the University of Antwerp. During his studies, he focused on economic and corporate law. Since March 2022, he has been a member of the Brussels Bar. In 2024, he obtained an Advanced Master’s degree in Corporate Law from KU Leuven, after which he joined in August 2024 the intui team.    
Kim Van Herck
Kim Van Herck
Kim Van Herck graduated from KU Leuven in 2008 as Master of Laws. During her education, she spent six months studying at the University of Orléans (France) within the context of the Erasmus programme. While still at the university, she already gained a first experience in the legal profession through summer internships in the departments Corporate Law, Mergers & Acquisitions and Banking & Finance of some first-rate law firms. Driven by her passion for corporate law, she obtained her degree of Master in Corporate Law at the HU Brussels in 2009. In 2009, she started her career as a lawyer at the law firm Curia. In 2013, she participated in the creation of intui. Kim has extensive experience in providing legal assistance to a wide range of transactional cases, more in particular M&A and real estate transactions. Within that scope, she advises on drawing up investment, acquisition and shareholders’ agreements, or regarding the restructuring of companies and associations. She also offers advice on various aspects of corporate and association law and business law in general. She regularly speaks at seminars on various topics relating to corporate law, among which the reform resulting from the new Companies and Associations Code.
Matthias Jans
Matthias Jans
In 2012, Matthias Jans graduated as Master of Laws from KU Leuven where he specialized in economic and private law. Given his preference for corporate law and M&A, he also obtained an Advanced Master’s degree in Corporate Law at the KU Leuven, HU Brussel in 2014, and a postgraduate degree in Corporate Finance at the KU Leuven in 2020. From 2014 until 2019, he was a part-time teaching assistant within the team of Professor Joeri Vananroye at the Institute of Economic Law of the KU Leuven. Matthias started his career as a lawyer in 2012 at the law firm Curia, where he focused on corporate and business law. At the beginning of 2013, he participated in the creation of intui. In 2017, he temporarily left the Bar to work as a senior consultant in corporate law for one of Belgium’s largest independent fiduciaries. In 2018, he reintegrated the intui team. Matthias mainly handles M&A cases (transfer of shares, asset deals, mergers and acquisitions, shareholders’ agreements…) and advises on corporate and association law. He has also expertise in drawing up and negotiating commercial contracts.
Philippe Van Lierde
Philippe Van Lierde
Philippe Van Lierde graduated in 2022 as Master of Law at KU Leuven with a specialization in private and economic law. After his law studies, he obtained an Advanced Master’s degree in Notarial Law at the same university. During this course, company law sparked his particular interest. Since September 2023, he joined the Brussels Bar and the intui-team.  
Pieter  Van Braband
Pieter Van Braband
Pieter Van Braband graduated in 2011 at the KU Leuven as Master of Laws, where he specialized in commercial law and criminal law. In 2012, he obtained an additional Master’s degree in Tax Law at the KU Leuven. Within that scope, he was member of the International and European Tax Moot Court where he won the award for best pleading individual. From 2012 until 2015, Pieter worked at the law firm Laga, currently Deloitte Legal. He joined the ‘litigation team’ of intui in 2015. Pieter is specialized in shareholders disputes and disputes regarding director liabilities, with special focus on liberal professionals. He is also an active member of several associations and enjoys giving talks at seminars. In 2020, Pieter obtained a postgraduate in Corporate Finance at the KU Leuven.
Robbie Tas
Robbie Tas
Robbie Tas is holder of several degrees earned at the KU Leuven (1990 Bachelor of Applied sciences; 1993 Master in Business engineering, specialization finance; 1994 Master of Laws; 1994 Complementary studies ‘Fiscal systems’; 2002 PhD in Law). From 1994 to 2001, he served as a research fellow within the team of Professor Koen Geens at the Jan Ronse Institute of the KU Leuven. In 2002, he obtained his PhD with a thesis on the maintenance of capital in public limited liability companies and private limited liability companies. From 1997 to 2003, Robbie was in charge of the legal secretariat of the International Commission of Appeal at NASDAQ Europe. He was member of the board of directors of electricity company Luminus from 2002 to 2005. Since 2004, he is a lecturer in the Master’s Programme of Corporate Law at the KU Leuven, Brussels campus. In 2012, he was guest lecturer in the postgraduate programme ‘Estate planning’ at the VUB. Robbie is a regular contributor to ‘TRV’, the Journal for Legal Entities and Companies. He is also president of ‘VRG-Alumni’, the alumni association of the law faculty of the KU Leuven. He has published extensively on corporate and association law and is a much sought-after speaker on these topics. He is an active member of the Belgian center for company law. The minister of justice called upon his expertise within the context of the company law reform. He is also an independent director and president of the board of directors of the investment fund Aphilion Robbie started his career as a lawyer in 1995 at the Brussels’ law firm De Bandt Van Hecke & Lagae (currently Linklaters). In 2000, he set up his own law firm in Leuven. In 2002, he became partner at the law firm Maxius. In 2006, he participated in the creation of the law firm Curia. He co-founded intui in 2013. Robbie is specialized in commercial and business law, with particular focus on corporate and non-profit law. His clients include independent businessmen and companies, shareholders and directors. He has also a particular interest in issues related to liberal professionals, whether they practice in a partnership or otherwise. He is an experienced and respected litigator, with a particular focus on disputes between shareholders / directors of companies. Although he prefers negotiated solutions to litigation, he does not shy away from tenacious court proceedings if and when required. He also regularly acts as an arbitrator in national and international commercial disputes. Finally, Robbie has extensive experience in advisory and transactional work.
