Andrew specialises in commercial landlord and tenant, development, and investment sales. Andrew has acted for occupiers in taking leases of all types of real estate ranging from shopping centre units, industrial warehouses, and city centre office space. His deals include the lettings of Urbis to the National Football Museum, leases to supermarkets, and the opening of a retailer’s flagship store in Regent Street.  Additionally, Andrew advises landlords on the management of their property portfolios, as well as negotiating the acquisition and disposal of industrial estates, mixed use developments, and office parks, including the sale of Piccadilly Gateway (the “lazy s” building adjacent to Manchester Piccadilly Railway Station). Andrew has experience dealing with development agreements for pre-lets, promotion agreements, overage, and options.  Andrew recently acted on the sale of part of the former Boddingtons Brewery site. Ayesha advises on a wide range of family law issues resulting for the breakdown of relationships, primarily relating to divorce and matrimonial financial disputes. Ayesha also advises on all private law children matters particularly to resolve disputes regarding children of separated parents, such as where the children will live and the amount of time a parent spends with the child, and financial provisions for children under Schedule 1. Having previously worked across our commercial and residential property departments, Ayesha is able to advise clients using sound commercial judgment whilst also being committed to reaching a workable solution without unduly increasing any conflict.

Caroline is a specialist commercial and non-contentious intellectual property lawyer and partner in the Commercial and Intellectual Property department. Areas of expertise Caroline provides advice to clients on a broad range of areas including: all types of commercial arrangements, including research and product development, manufacturing and routes to market; the strategic protection and exploitation of intellectual property rights, in particular know how and confidential information, trade marks and copyright; and use of technology for the delivery of products and services. Claire has vast experience in acting for a range of employers in both the private and public sectors ranging from SMEs to Plcs, Registered Providers of Social Housing, universities and schools. An experienced Employment Tribunal Advocate Claire has acted for a range of employers in the successful defence of complex discrimination claims and TUPE disputes as well as more day to day unfair dismissal claims. Claire has returned to the licensing team, having first worked with Felicity Tulloch in 2007. In between, Claire practised for a number of years as a healthcare regulatory solicitor representing clients at inquest and in the Court of Protection. Whilst predominantly acting for corporate entities he regularly acts for individuals. She has particular expertise in the complex field of contentious tax issue resolution and asset forfeiture, advising on both direct and indirect tax enquiries. Wendi has defended both companies and individuals in numerous cases brought by the SFO and HM Revenue & Customs and has particular experience of very high cost and complex cases, predominantly involving allegations of fraud. Yasmin provides advice on intellectual property disputes and works with clients across a number of industry sectors including retail, technology, media, food and leisure. She has experience in dealing with disputes relating to trade marks, patents, copyright and designs as well as the related areas of passing off, defamation and misuse of confidential information. She has worked on cases before the High Court, the Court of Appeal, Intellectual Property Enterprise Court (IPEC) and the UK Intellectual Property Office Tribunal. Yasmin was also involved in coordinating a worldwide trade mark dispute with concurrent US and UK court proceedings. In addition to the contentious aspects of Intellectual Property, Yasmin advises on non-contentious matters such as the registrability of IP rights and the exploitation of existing rights through, for example, licensing. Since qualification Yasmin has developed a specialism in UK and EU Competition law, and has so far advised on complex matters involving anti-competitive agreements, selective distribution, abuse of dominance, block exemptions and hardcore restrictions such as price fixing, as well as references to the Competition and Markets Authority.
