Senior Associate

Adrián was already recognised as Key Lawyer for Retail by Legal 500 EMEA 2023 (“Adrián Fernández showcases in-depth knowledge of consumer protection, retail trade, e-commerce and advertising regulatory issues”).  

Adrián is a Senior Associate in our Corporate/M&A and Commercial team. Adrián co-leads the Retail/Commercial practice of Hogan Lovells in Madrid together with Alex Dolmans.

In addition to representing international companies in a full range of business and corporate law matters, Adrián has been involved in providing day-to-day advice on Spanish commercial, consumer protection, retail trade, e-commerce and advertising regulations. Based in Madrid and with more than 12 years of experience, Adrián understands the legal needs of multinational companies doing business in Spain and provides them with agile, practical and clear legal advice.

Because many multinational corporations have limited in-house legal capacity in Spain, he embraces the role of outside counsel as if he were, in fact, an in-house lawyer by working alongside with their legal hubs all around the world. Adrián acts as legal point of contact for many multinational retail companies doing business in Spain.

Adrián is an active contributor on the latest market developments in the Retail sector as demonstrated by his recent contribution for the Spanish 2024 edition of Getting the Deal Through: Luxury and Fashion and Automotive and Mobility publications.

He also has extensive experience in technology and life sciences. Adrián has advised multinational pharmaceutical companies both from a corporate and commercial product-regulation perspective. In 2015, Adrián was seconded to Novartis Pharma in Basel for several months, where he focused on providing commercial advice and support to other members of the legal in-house team.
