Career
Andreas Renck has been advising on intellectual property (IP) law, particularly European Union trademark and Community design law, international IP prosecution, and litigation for a number of international clients. Having been involved in thousands of application and opposition proceedings before the European trademark office (EUIPO) in Alicante, his knowledge and skills also span from representing clients in major cases before the General Court and Court of Justice in Luxembourg, to coordinating litigation proceedings in various European countries. Andreas has been coordinating worldwide or regional settlements.
His business centred, proactive, and innovative approach helps turn his clients' complex issues into opportunities. He advises a wide range of clients including the automotive, pharmaceutical, beverages and information technology.
Andreas focuses on international trademark portfolio filing and defence strategies, with an emphasis on colour, position and sound marks. He further has a strong record in dealing with complex and technically difficult prosecution matters, including obtaining evidence required to prove secondary meaning, including survey evidence.
Andreas is an author of the Kluwer Concise Commentary on EU trade marks and has published various articles on European and international trade mark law. He is also a teacher at the University of Alicante.
