Julian Rowden is a partner and member at Lupton Fawcett. Julian graduated in Law (with a language) from the University of Kent at Canterbury in 1980 and after living in Germany for a time where he taught English as a foreign language, he returned and qualified as a solicitor in 1986. After working for a City firm for several years where he specialised in commercial property, and a short spell working in the South-West of England, Julian and his family moved to Sheffield, and he has now made the Yorkshire city his home. Julian has extensive experience in dealing with commercial property of all types, and some of the projects he has been involved in have changed the face of Sheffield. He has particular experience in the leisure and retail sectors including acquisitions and disposals of hotels, restaurants and leisure centres, also leases of retail shops in both high street locations and in all the leading shopping centres across England, and with commercial and industrial premises including relocation of factories, including new builds with ancillary agreements for leases and collateral warranties. He has also dealt with complex site assembly and constructions of new developments of all sizes including brownfield and reclaimed sites and agricultural land, with all associated option agreements and overage agreements, especially former Coal Authority sites. He is well versed in the negotiation as well as the legal drafting. He can set up and advise on the structure of different types of joint venture, secured funding and option arrangements, and all associated statutory agreements.
