Position

Laura trained with Raeburn Christie Clark & Wallace, a large Aberdeen law firm.  Laura joined Macdonald Henderson in 2015.

A key member of the Macdonald Henderson corporate team Laura has experience in advising clients from small owner managed businesses to larger companies on a wide range of corporate matters.

She regularly advises clients on commercial matters including sales and purchases, share buybacks, directors' duties and general corporate governance queries.

In addition, Laura has particular expertise in handling the employment aspects of corporate and commercial transactions, and can assist in relation to TUPE and the employment law implications of business acquisitions and disposals.

Laura can also advise clients on contentious and non-contentious employment issues on all stages of the working relationship, from the drafting and negotiation of contracts for incoming employees, directors and independent contractors, and the development and use of policies and procedures, through to dealing with issues surrounding the termination of employment.

Laura has particular expertise in advising on matters relating to GDPR and commercial contracts, and is the firm’s knowledge leader in this regard.

Career

Trained at Raeburn Christie Clark & Wallace, qualified in 2014.  Joined Macdonald Henderson in 2015, was appointed as Associate Director in 2018 and Director in 2021.

Laura tutors post-graduate students at the University of Strathclyde in the Employment law elective.

Laura is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association. Laura is a board member for Women's Aid South Lanarkshire and East Renfrewshire.
