Trainee Solicitor. Cameron supports the team in various transactions including M&A, company restructuring and corporate finance. Whilst studying on the LLB and Diploma, Cameron’s interests primarily focused on corporate and commercial areas of law.  Cameron’s passion and knowledge for business has its foundations in being involved with his family’s hospitality business and he still manages the back-office aspects of their business.  This provides Cameron with a unique insight and invaluable skills in the operation of SMEs and adopting changes from regulations and the law, to allow the core activities of a business to remain its main focus. Cameron hopes to benefit both Macdonald Henderson and their clients from his commercial awareness and customer service background whilst learning from the talented team at Macdonald Henderson  
David Beveridge
David Beveridge
David trained with McGrigor Donald (now Pinsent Masons) from 1997-1999 and then spent six years with Maclay Murray & Spens, working in the corporate team and gaining experience in all aspects of mergers, investments, acquisitions and disposals. David then joined Macdonald Henderson in 2005 and led a buyout of the practice in early 2009, becoming one of Scotland's youngest managing partners. Specialising in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, shareholder matters and general corporate advisory work, he is featured in CA's ‘Who's Who in Corporate Finance’ and has been recognised in several Scottish legal industry award categories, including Rising Star, Corporate Lawyer of the Year and Managing Partner of the Year. David is company secretary of The Entrepreneurial Exchange. Recent deals: Advising: the shareholders of WD Factors and Bridge Motor Factors on the sale of both to Automotive Alliance; Billy Walker & consortium’s acquisition of the Glenallachie Distillery from Pernod Ricard, to include the Glenallachie single malt brand, and MacNair’s and White Heather blended scotch brands; Welch Chemists on disposal to Deans; employee shareholders in the sale of Glasgow based technology firm Stream Technologies to semiconductor giant ARM; JP Mackie & Coin the acquisition of Barshaw Pharmacy;  Viking Mead on its acquisition of Valhalla Brewery, Shetland;  Jennyswell Nursery in sale to trade buyer; Coneworx, in the buyback of shares from RBS;  Law At Work, in its acquisition of Aberdeen-based HR and employment law firm, Empire; JP Mackie & Co in the refinance of the group by the firm’s existing bankers (Santander); on the sale of Lethington Leisure (Paradise Island Adventure Golf) to The Brighton Pier Group Plc for total consideration of £10.5 million; On MBO of GHI Contracts;  The GlenAllachie Distillers Co Limited on the £16m refinance via  an inventory & receivable facility provided by Clydesdale Bank PLC; on the sale of Brian C. Dick Financial Planning (independent financial advisory services) to Carnegie Asset Management Limited; on the acquisition by Atlas Blue Limited of Prontoport Limited (engineering support services to the wind and wider energy and industrial markets; Jet Rubber Products on its acquisition of the business and assets of Jet Roller Services (bespoke roller design and manufacture) in administration; Carmelite (Aberdeen) Limited, the owner and operator of The Carmelite Hotel, Aberdeen, on the refinance by RBS
Emily Hencher

Emily qualified as a solicitor in our Corporate team in July 2023, after completing her traineeship with the firm.  Emily has dealt with a number corporate and commercial matters including acquisitions, disposals, management buyouts and other internal restructures, EMI Options schemes and general corporate governance matters. In addition, Emily has particular experience advising on the due diligence aspects of corporate transactions which has included Scots law advice in relation to international transactions. In her studies, Emily found a passion for corporate law, competition law and employment law. Combining her interest in new technologies and a keen eye for creative solutions, she tackled the regulation of Artificial Intelligence in her final Dissertation and she applies the same innovative approach to her work within the Corporate team at Macdonald Henderson.

Gordon is Director of Private Client within the firm.  With many years experience, he regularly advises clients in all aspects of their personal affairs, including Wills, Powers of Attorney, Guardianships, Estate and Succession planning, care home funding and executry matters. He regularly deals with high value estates and is regularly instructed by other solicitors in Adults with Incapacity matters. Gordon makes himself available for all clients and works on the basis of ‘people buy people’ and works to create long lasting partnerships with those who instruct him.

Recent transactions on which Ian has advised include: Acting for successful leisure industry entrepreneur in the long lease of substantial and new Glasgow city centre licensed leisure development; advising listed engineering organisation in the leasing of new Scottish central belt factory premises; acting for niche manufacturing company in the purchase of several new factory premises located in the Scottish Highlands; assisting corporate colleagues on the real estate aspects of numerous high value and high profile business acquisitions and sales; negotiating a complex development contract on behalf of a Scottish housebuilder in the Scottish central belt; advising numerous pension funds in the acquisition of commercial investment properties; negotiating lease documentation in respect of a variety of office, retail and industrial premises; acting for numerous insolvency practitioners in the sale of distressed assets; advising numerous UK clearing banks in the negotiation of security packages relating to commercial lending.

Katherine joined the Macdonald Henderson Commercial Property team in 2023 as a solicitor and advises on acquisitions and sales of commercial property; commercial leasing, for both landlords and tenants, and various other aspects of commercial property. Katherine prides herself on her diligent and hardworking approach. With her personable and reliable style, she enjoys building client relationships and looks forward to contributing to Macdonald Henderson’s service to clients.

Laura trained with Raeburn Christie Clark & Wallace, a large Aberdeen law firm.  Laura joined Macdonald Henderson in 2015. A key member of the Macdonald Henderson corporate team Laura has experience in advising clients from small owner managed businesses to larger companies on a wide range of corporate matters. She regularly advises clients on commercial matters including sales and purchases, share buybacks, directors' duties and general corporate governance queries. In addition, Laura has particular expertise in handling the employment aspects of corporate and commercial transactions, and can assist in relation to TUPE and the employment law implications of business acquisitions and disposals. Laura can also advise clients on contentious and non-contentious employment issues on all stages of the working relationship, from the drafting and negotiation of contracts for incoming employees, directors and independent contractors, and the development and use of policies and procedures, through to dealing with issues surrounding the termination of employment. Laura has particular expertise in advising on matters relating to GDPR and commercial contracts, and is the firm’s knowledge leader in this regard.

Ryan has significant experience in purchases, disposals, commercial contracts, financial facilities, and restructuring transactions.  Ryan also has experience dealing with insolvency matters and shareholder disputes, working across both the corporate and litigation departments. Ryan has particular expertise advising sporting bodies, including sports clubs, intermediaries and advisors, governing bodies and third sector bodies.  Ryan holds a membership with LawInSport and regularly writes on developments in Sports law.  In particular, Ryan was contacted for insight into the European Super League from a sports law perspective by Business Insider, providing analysis on the proposal and being quoted in the publication: https://www.insider.co.uk/news/broadcasters-should-commit-tv-ban-23947306 Ryan has also worked with a wide range of banks and lenders, charities, contractors, manufacturing clients, and across the care and hospitality sectors.

Tomas joined Macdonald Henderson in October 2024 as an Associate Director from one of the largest multi-service legal firms in the Highlands. Tomas specialises in all aspects of residential conveyancing work including the purchases and sales of residential property, transfers of title, remortgages and security work.
