Adam Bernstein

Adam is a Senior Associate in Maples Teesdale's commercial real estate team and heads up the Hospitality and Leisure Sector team. He advises a varied client base consisting of a number of household names in the leisure and hospitality sector on their real estate growth and asset management requirements as well as specialising in providing legal advice to some of the most exciting new brands from the UK and overseas who are wanting to enter the sector.  He also has extensive experience of capital transactions and active management of office, retail and industrial parks and shopping centres.

Alex Watkins

Alex is an Associate in the commercial property team with experience in all areas of commercial property work including landlord and tenant work, acquisitions and disposals and property management work.

Alfred Wrigley

Alfred is a Paralegal in the commercial real estate team.  He provides support to the team with various tasks including legal research, the preparation and reviewing of legal documents, the management of deeds and client extranets.

Anastasia Klein

Anastasia is a Partner in Maples Teesdale’s commercial real estate team and Head of ESG at the firm. Anastasia is a member of the British Property Federation's Green Lease Working Group, a founding member of the Allbright women’s networking club, an active member of Real Estate Balance, and registered as a speaker with Diversity Talks Real Estate and a committee member of RE:Women. Anastasia has extensive experience of capital transactions; acquisitions, disposals and refinancing of commercial property, including portfolios and sale and leaseback transactions; developments, pre-lets as well as asset management [shopping centres, retail parks, hotels, warehouses, industrial parks and offices]; and specialist expertise in dealing with embassy and ambassadorial premises. Anastasia is the co-Head of Diversity and Inclusion at Maples Teesdale. As an individual is passionate about the need for diversity within the legal profession, Anastasia pro-actively supports, and helps drive our Firm’s view that a diverse workplace is key to our business. Anastasia is also responsible for selecting trainees and paralegals to join our team. Anastasia is also a keen advocate of women raising their visibility in both the legal profession and the real estate industry. Her first experience of public speaking was moderating a panel discussion at Bisnow’s inaugural Women in Real Estate event, in front of an audience of over 450 people Anastasia also a founding member of the Allbright women’s networking club, an active member of Real Estate Balance, and registered as a speaker with Women Talk Real Estate and RE:Women.

Anna McDowell

Anna is an Associate in Maples Teesdale’s commercial real estate team. Anna has experience and has assisted on sales and purchases of various types of properties including offices, shopping centres and development land. Anna also has experience in property management, landlord and tenant work and secured lending for retail and office sector clients. Anna has experience in strategic land projects.

Charles Elgood

Charles is a Partner in Maples Teesdale's commercial real estate team. He has extensive experience working on acquisitions and disposals (including forward purchase and forward funding deals), and refinancing of commercial and high-value residential properties.  He is also involved in day to day asset management work for retail centres and industrial parks.

Chris Xitsas

Chris is a Partner in the commercial real estate team and heads up the Living sector, with a broad range of experience across all aspects of investment, development and asset management work, as well as strategic land advice. Chris specialises in capital transactions and active management of office parks and retail assets, with a particular focus on the repositioning of town-centre shopping centres. He also has notable experience in site assembly, collaboration and land promotion agreements (acting for promoters and owners), and has a deep knowledge of development projects acting for institutional investors, student accommodation developers and educational institutions

Claire Munn

Claire is a Senior Associate in the dispute resolution team with experience in landlord and tenant matters, advising landlords and tenants in relation to lease renewals under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954, advising on dilapidations, breaks and forfeiture and advising developers and landowners in relation to rights of light.

Clare Sivill

Clare is a Senior Associate in the commercial real estate team with experience in non-contentious commercial property work including acquisitions and disposals, lettings acting for both landlords and tenants, property development advising developers, landowners and occupiers as well as property management work. Clare also advises on strategic land projects.

Declan Power

Declan is Head of Real Estate at Maples Teesdale and is one of the UK’s leading real estate development lawyers working on high profile projects in the offices, industrial/logistics, town centre repositioning, and living sectors, for both developers and institutional funders. Declan's development experience includes retail, offices, mixed use, student accommodation, PRS and industrial/distribution including forward funding, forward purchases, joint venture agreements, development agreements, rent sharing leases, construction aspects and warranties, rights of light, stopping up orders and planning.   Declan has extensive experience of commercial property investment sales and purchases, including portfolio sales and purchases and sales and leasebacks.  Declan is also experienced in commercial property asset management, including new lettings, lease renewals and lease regearings.

Dellah Gilbert

Dellah is the Head of Dispute Resolution at Maples Teesdale and has extensive experience in a wide variety of property-related contentious commercial property issues through negotiation, mediation or proceedings, including high value dilapidations claims, hostile lease renewals, multi-million pound development disputes, rights of light, rent review and development issues and professional negligence. Dellah is the co-Head of Diversity and Inclusion at Maples Teesdale.

Edward Bird

Edward is a Senior Associate in Maples Teesdale’s commercial real estate team. He has extensive experience working on acquisitions, disposals and refinancing. Edward has also advised developers on a number of schemes and is involved in day to day asset management work for offices and retail.

Eleanor Crawford-Drake

Ellie is a Senior Associate in the corporate and commercial team with experience in a broad range of transactions covering a number of jurisdictions and including the use of W&I insurance, various purchase price adjustments and tickets reaching $300m. She has significant experience in corporate acquisitions and disposals, ranging from single asset to multi-company portfolio transactions, establishing and managing joint ventures, acting for minority or majority shareholder investors and company management and restructuring.

Fei Pan

Fei is an Associate in the construction team where he advises on acquisitions, disposals, and development projects (new build and refurbishments), and negotiates and drafts the relevant construction and consultancy contracts. Fei commenced his practice in Australia, where he has experience in contentious construction matters, and has acted for both developers and contractors on disputes relating to residential and infrastructure projects, including matters that have been referred to mediation, arbitration and the Courts.

Fiona Larcombe

Fiona is professional support lawyer who advises the team on all aspects of commercial real estate work, with a particular emphasis on landlord and tenant and real estate asset and SPV sales. Fiona has specialised in knowhow support for real estate lawyers and clients since 1998.

Helen is a Senior Associate in the commercial real estate team with experience in all areas of commercial property work including asset management work acting for both landlords and occupiers, advising on acquisitions and disposals for retail, offices, and industrial sector clients and has experience advising a number of lenders and borrowers on real estate finance transactions.

Hester Coltman-Rogers

Hester is an Associate in the corporate and commercial team at Maples Teesdale with experience across a range of transactions, including those with the use of W&I insurance. She has experience in corporate acquisitions and disposals, joint ventures, company management and real estate fund management, as well as in the negotiation of a variety of commercial contracts.

Holly Stylianou

Holly is an Associate in the commercial real estate team with experience in all areas of property management, landlord and tenant, acquisitions and disposals and secured lending for retail, office and industrial sector clients. Holly is also experienced in strategic land projects.

James Cox

James is a Senior Associate in the commercial real estate team at Maples Teesdale. James has experience in asset management work acting for both landlords and occupiers. He also advises on acquisitions and disposals of commercial property including industrial premises and offices and has experience advising a number of borrowers on real estate finance transactions.

James Howland

James is an Associate in the commercial real estate team at Maples Teesdale. James has experience in non-contentious commercial property work including landlord and tenant work, acquisitions and disposals as well as property management work for a variety of clients in the UK.

John Bosworth

John is Head of Planning at Maples Teesdale and has extensive experience working in both the private and public sectors. He advises on local authorities, statutory undertakers, developers, investors, regeneration agencies and housing associations on a wide range of legal issues associated with development as well as regeneration, infrastructure and strategic land projects. In particular he has advised on waste proposals, port development and in connection with the expansion of London Ashford Airport. John advises on all aspects of town and country planning, judicial review, highways and drainage and compulsory purchase and compensation.

Katherine Watts

Katherine is a Partner in the commercial real estate team at Maples Teesdale. Katherine has extensive experience of leisure and hotel acquisitions, disposals and lettings, shopping centre acquisitions, disposals and lettings, forward funding and development of student accommodation as well as advising corporate owners/occupiers.

Mark Harryman

Mark is a Partner in Maples Teesdale's commercial real estate team and is Head of Industrial & Logistics at the firm. Mark has extensive experience of commercial property investment sales and purchases, including portfolio sales and purchases and sales and leasebacks.  He is also experienced in commercial property asset management, including new lettings, lease renewals and lease regearings as well as acting for bank/borrower on property financings.

Mary Romanov

Mary is a Senior construction Associate with experience advising on development schemes, acquisitions and financings including drafting, negotiating and completing documents required for the construction team and providing construction input into sale and purchase agreements and financing agreements.

Megan Newnham

Megan is an Associate in real estate finance team, acting for borrowers and lenders on acquisition and development finance transactions. Megan advises lenders and borrowers on a wide range of real estate finance transactions covering asset classes including office, retail, residential, hotels, student accommodation and shopping centres.

Michael Craik

Michael is a Consultant in the construction team advising on both non-contentious and contentious construction matters, advising a wide range of clients (public and private sector) including funders, developers, contractors and consultants. He has an in-depth knowledge of industry standard forms including JCT, NEC and FIDIC and extensive experience of drafting and negotiating construction contracts for new build and refurbishment projects in the energy, health, educational and R&D sectors, including PFI/PPP and LIFT projects. Michael has significant experience of resolving construction disputes through mediation/ADR, adjudication, arbitration and court proceedings.  This includes cross-border disputes (eg ICC and LCIA arbitration), professional negligence claims and claims arising from insolvency during construction projects such as the enforcement of performance bonds and guarantees.

Neil Sagoo

Neil is a Partner in Maples Teesdale’s commercial real estate team and is Head of the Offices sector team.  Neil has extensive experience of commercial property investment sales and purchases; commercial developments (acting for developers and landowners); residential development site assemblies and land promotions; and a wide variety of commercial landlord and tenant matters (acting for landlords and occupiers) and funding matters (acting for lenders and borrowers). The types of properties dealt with include London and provincial offices, warehouses, business parks, retail parks , hotels, pubs, on-shore and off-shore wind farms, shopping centres, data centres, a railport, a manufacturing and assembly building, a metal processing plant, an airport catering area, the O2 Dome, an NHS hospital, a role-on-roll-off ferry terminal and container port, farms and a full range of residential properties including build-to-rent housing blocks.  Neil also has specialist expertise in dealing with several embassy and ambassadorial premises.

Paul Burke

Paul is the Managing Partner at Maples Teesdale. Paul is a corporate real estate partner and has extensive experience of portfolio acquisitions or disposals through group company structures often involving multiple jurisdictions; joint ventures including all forms of joint venture vehicles from private companies to all types of partnerships, LLPs and unit trusts and other unincorporated associations; SPV sales and purchases (for example to effect SDLT mitigation schemes); Jersey Property Unit Trusts (JPUTs); sale and leaseback structures; property and asset management agreements and shareholder disputes.

Roger Thornton

Roger is Head of Commercial Real Estate at Maples Teesdale and is a key member of the Offices and Retail sector teams. Roger has extensive experience in investment, sales and purchases including portfolio acquisitions and disposals, commercial property development, acting for developers and landowners and commercial property asset management, including new lettings, lease renewals and lease regearings.

Rosalind Cullis

Rosalind is a Partner in our Real Estate Disputes team. She has acted for a wide range of both landlord and tenant clients including institutional landlords, asset managers, retail and office tenants as well as HNW and high profile individuals.  Her expertise covers primarily commercial property disputes but she also has experience of some areas of residential property as well as construction disputes.  She has also written many articles for the legal and property press.

Sam Nichols

Sam is the Head of Construction at Maples Teesdale and has extensive experience advising on the construction law aspects of acquisitions and disposals, regeneration, development and the provision of related infrastructure.  He also advises development funders on construction law aspects of secured lending arrangements. Tim Dodd

Tim is a Partner in the corporate and commercial real estate team, specialising in hotels transactions, acting for major international hotel operator companies, private and institutional hotel owners/franchisees, property companies, multinational organisations, developers, institutional investors, and governmental bodies. As well as his time in private practice Tim has also spent a significant amount of his legal career working as in-house counsel for hotel operator brands.

Tom is a Senior Associate in the dispute resolution team with wide experience in contentious commercial property issues. Tom acts for a variety of clients across a range of sectors and asset types, including retail, offices, industrial and logistics.

Zoe Miller

Zoe is a Partner in the Real Estate Finance team and the Offices sector team. Zoe has a wealth of experience acting for both funders and borrowers on a wide range of domestic and international real estate finance transactions covering asset classes including office, retail, residential, hotels, care homes, student accommodation and shopping centres. General banking experience includes leveraged finance, asset based lending, restructuring and project finance.
