Diversity
At Olesiński & Wspólnicy, we believe that only by acting in accordance with our values we can fully enjoy our success. Among these values, what has united us most over many years is our love for animals and respect for nature. Every day we work pro bono to protect animals – we fight for their rights, we conduct proceedings in cases of animal abuse, and we seek out new homes for those who have been abandoned. In fact, many of our employees have adopted dogs and cats into their homes. Our lawyers also help the Ekostraż Foundation, regularly advising them, and this has led to many successes in court proceedings regarding animal abuse. In addition, we train volunteers and support social animal protection inspectors, who we teach how to act when collecting neglected animals. As part of our ongoing mission to help, we respond to police questions concerning the regulations which should be applied during interventions.
In 2020, we celebrated OW’s 15th anniversary in line with our values – by continuing our tradition of helping the Ekostraż Foundation. We launched a fundraiser and made a donation to build an enclosure for animals at the Ekostraż shelter in Wrocław so that these creatures would be able to play and socialize in a supportive environment. A number of OW staff was also engaged in the process of building the shelter itself.
As 70% of the OW team are women, they prove that competence is not a matter of gender, but of talent, passion and commitment. We support our female staff in many ways, and every year, on International Women’s Day, we engage in the ‘Shoe Box’ project in aid of women in need.
In 2019, we received one of the most prestigious Polish rankings – a distinction for pro bono activities by a law firm – in the daily newspaper Rzeczpospolita.
We support the concept of an economy of values. As part of this, we create and cultivate relationships by actively participating in the Open Eyes Economy Summit movement.
