The main areas of practice include the following:

Corporate/antitrust: The firm has highly developed corporate practice and provides strategic advice, practical and business-wise solutions on a wide variety of corporate matters to local, regional and multi-national businesses and financial institutions. The firm advises on all stages of implementation of M&A transactions, company incorporations, advises on corporate governance issues and corporate reorganizations. The firm has been involved in a number of recent successful M&A projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and has advised on all stages of transactions, from due diligence to successful closing. Its corporate practice covers range of industries, including IT, retail, production and financial institutions.

The firm’s antitrust practice goes hand in hand with its extensive experience in corporate matters. The firm offers competition advice in M&A transactions, including merger notifications and representation of clients before the competition authority. It also advises clients on wide range of other antitrust issues, including prohibited agreements, abuses of dominant positions, execution of vertical agreements and represents the clients before the competition authority and local courts in civil litigation following the competition abuses.

Banking and finance/regulatory: The firm is the principal advisor to a number of financial institutions in BiH, including banks, leasing companies and micro-credit organizations. Its lawyers provide advice on regulatory and compliance matters to financial institutions, as well as advice on data protection and corporate litigation. They also regularly assist the clients in debt collection, financial dispute negotiations and regulatory enforcement matters involving a range of financial institutions, regulators and agencies.

Dispute resolution: Commercial litigation is a service offered to the firm’s clients by a team of experienced lawyers with proven record not only before the local courts but also before the ECHR. The firm regularly represents financial institutions before the local courts in active and passive proceedings of high value as well as strategic litigation. It also advises and regularly represents the business entities – employers in employment-related disputes, negotiations with trade unions and out-of-court settlements of disputes.

Employment: The firm’s two Senior Partners, Dina Duraković and Elma Veledar Arifagić, are recognized experts in area of employment law and employment-related litigation, evident by the fact that they are regularly called for consultations with competent authorities in relation to reform of employment regulation. They have both been involved in design and successful implementation of the Employment Law School, the first modular professional education offered to in-house lawyers and HR experts in Bosnia and Herzegovina. They regularly advise clients in all matters concerning employment law, advise them in the course of preparation of redundancy programs, negotiate with trade unions, and represent them in employment-related litigation before the competent courts.
