Career

Christine is an experienced transfer pricing and international tax advisor, who has worked for over 25 years in business, including over 20 years in Asia. Her experience includes 7 years working with “big four” firms in Singapore and China.

Christine works with the firm’s international tax practice and has worked on various matters, including those relating to tax structuring and planning, transfer pricing and China trade and policy related advisory work.

Christine has provided TP and International Tax advice for clients throughout Asia Pacific, including Australia and New Zealand, throughout South-East Asia countries, Hong Kong, China, South Korea and Japan. Her projects have included:

business restructuring projects, feasibility assessments and implementation, and operating model risk reviews; development of TP Policies, numerous TP documentation projects and drafted intercompany agreements; developed defence documentation and Tax Authority responses to queries; jointly led an APA discussion and developed the pre-filing and application documentation; provided international tax advisory (PE, Treaty/residency) and Corporate income tax advisory (tax incentives, WHT)

Christine provided advisory support to customers across a range of industries (agribusiness, consumer goods, engineering, professional services and entertainment industries)

Her representative matters include:

Conducted several feasibility studies for a global Theme Park operator to define options and decide on the best legal and operating model structures (and locations) for their China, UK and Malaysia operations. Conducted 2 design workshops to define the legal and operating model options for a global electronics company, moving their global headquarters from Europe to Asia. In Phase 2, conducted a feasibility study to assist the client to select their preferred legal and operating model option and an implementation plan developed. Conducted a risk review for a global wealth management company making investments for retail and wholesale investors, based on crypto currency investments. The project required a global review of transfer pricing risks of the proposed operating model and intercompany transactions across 8 jurisdictions globally. Several recommendations were made, to manage TP risk – and all were implemented. Conducted a risk review for a proposed digital token/NFP marketplace and trading structure across more than 10 countries globally. The TP risk associated with around 10 intercompany transactions was assessed and several recommendations were executed to manage the identified risks.
