Director

Luis Michel has over 14 years of experience providing legal and tax advice to private equity, infrastructure and real estate fund managers, financial institutions and multinational corporations. Most of his work focuses on domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, fund formation, corporate restructurings, and public offerings of equity and debt securities. He has been the lead counsel in some of the most relevant transaction in the Mexican market in recent years. He has been recognized by International tax Review as a Highly Regarded Transactional Tax Practitioner for three years in a row. Luis Michel currently heads KPMG’s Mexico Desk in New York City, were he leads our firm’s efforts to strengthen our relationship with our most strategic US-based clients, mainly global assets managers and multinationals doing business in Mexico and Latam. Luis Michel has an MBA from Columbia Business School and a Mexican Law Degree, both graduated with honors. Before joining KPMG, Luis Michel worked for 7 years at Creel, Garcia-Cuellar, Aiza y Enriquez, S.C. and at the Madrid and Mexico City offices of international law firm Garrigues for 5 years.
