edpLaw Advokatbyrå KB (“edpLaw) was established in January 2021 with the clear strategy to provide high end legal services within the areas of data privacy and data protection law and employment law. The founding partners Dino Kalamujic and Johan Thörn have significant and longstanding experience from one of the leading global law firms in Stockholm, Sweden.

In order to meet the needs from global and domestic players in the current market the establishment of a boutique law firm which only focus on high end data privacy and data protection and employment law was very welcomed.

The establishment of edpLaw brings a market shift in the area of data privacy and data protection law in Sweden and as well with regards to employment law.

To further strengthen our service offering edpLaw was particularly delighted that Johan Sundberg, former head of the data privacy and data protection law team and employment law team at one on the leading global law firms in Stockholm joined the firm in September 2021. Johan Sundberg brings over 20 years of experience in the field of data privacy and data protection law and employment law and is recognized as one of the leading lawyers in the area of data privacy and data protection law by The Legal 500.

The demand for edpLaw's services has been overwhelming from the very start and the firm has since the first day assisted a number of major global and domestic players in various sectors ranging from banks, insurance companies, food and retail companies and industrial companies to public authorities and companies working with advanced technical solutions.

Our very experienced data privacy and data protection team assists in a broad range of questions including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and related legislation in matters involving for example data breach handling, cross-border transfers of personal data, data protection impact assessments, screening against sanctions lists, issues relating to impact of foreign surveillance laws, assessment of legal basis and requirements related to the fundamental principles under the GDPR, transparency requirements, data subject rights, litigation, and more.

For employment law we regularly assist clients in a number of questions and areas such as implementation of whistleblowing channels and related assistance, employment law in connections with mergers and acquisitions, re-organisations, terminations due to individual reasons, work environment questions, drafting of employment contracts and other compliance documents, discrimination issues, and more.

The firm has a strong international network which we have chosen carefully and which we reach out to when our clients need assistance in cross-border matters involving foreign law. We are regularly involved as lead legal counsel for projects spanning multiple jurisdictions.

We were particularly glad that Fredrik Eråker, senior associate, with significant experience of data privacy and data protection law joined the firm in January 2022 from one of the global leading law firms n Stockholm.
