Dispute resolution

• Advised VINA ECO BOARD COMPANY LIMITED, a foreign subsidiary of a leading Japanese company, SUMITOMO FORESTRYCO., LTD, in a tax related dispute before a Chinese court
• Represented our client, MIYATA GAKUEN, in a lawsuit to revoke an administrative disposition
• Claims for damages for employee misconduct of our client, FUJIFILM Corporation
• Defending a major Japanese company in a number of high-profile lawsuits in Japan regarding an extremely large-scale round-tripping fraud case

Labour and employment

• Advised KADOKAWA CORPORATION on handling of labor-related litigation, labor unions, and other human resources matters.
• An employee, who had already been dismissed, filed a lawsuit seeking to invalidate his dismissal against SBI Holdings, Inc. As a legal advisor in the area of labor and employment law, we have identified the grounds that led to the dismissal and won the case in the first trial.
• Based on the issue raised by the Board of Statutory Auditors and the Governance Committee, we investigated the labor situation at subsidiaries within the Group and the governance system of the Group as a whole for SAINT-CARE HOLDING CORPORATION and made a report on measures to improve the situation.

Intellectual property

• Advice on old documents pertaining to the ownership of the Kakiemon family, the most famous family of potters in Japan
• Negotiations regarding trademark infringement against Wacoal Corp.
• Advice on new services for Sapiens inc.
