Career
As an Intellectual Property lawyer, Harry has extensive experience in trademark and patent prosecution, copyright deposit, intellectual property litigation, Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) Applications, trademark applications through the Madrid Protocol, the foreign prosecution of patent and trademark applications, and data privacy compliance.
Before founding CFIP Law, Harry was an Intellectual Property lawyer at one of the largest law firms in the Philippines. Harry was involved in several trademark, patent and copyright enforcement actions.
At CFIP Law, Harry headed the team in the trademark opposition cases filed by Guangzhou Leader Bio-Technology Co.,Ltd., a Chinese multi-national agricultural bio-tech company engage in the research and production of feed pigment additives and animal nutrition products, against its Philippine distributor. Guangzhou Leader Bio-Technology Co., Ltd. has factories all over China and in Mexico and exports its products to South East Asia, South America, Australia, Africa, and Europe.
Aside from being an IP lawyer, Harry is also a researcher and an advocate for the protection of the intellectual property rights of local inventors and artists. As a graduate of Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Physics, Harry understands the challenges of local scientists and inventors and assists them in securing timely and effective intellectual property protection. As part of his advocacy, Harry writes papers and articles in international journals, international IP blogs, and national news publications tackling looming issues in Intellectual Property Law. This way, he can spread awareness on intellectual property protection in the Philippines – a country where scientific tradition is still developing.
