Richard advises clients on a range of intellectual property matters, both contentious and non-contentious, in the UK, EU and other foreign jurisdictions, with a particular focus on brand creation, clearance, protection and enforcement, IP strategy and worldwide trade mark portfolio management.
He has experience in matters relating to trade mark infringement and passing off, including litigation, opinion and advisory work. He has extensive experience of dealing with UK and EU trade mark oppositions, revocations and invalidity proceedings for clients across many sectors, including financial services, food and beverage, entertainment and consumer goods. He also handles the management of multi-jurisdictional disputes.
He has experience of dealing with anti-counterfeiting matters in the UK and EU and additionally advises on online enforcement such as takedowns and domain name complaints.
Richard is listed as a Key Lawyer in the recent Legal 500, has been recognised as a WIPR Leader 2024, and is listed as an IP Stars 2024 "Rising Star".
