Ruslan Ughrelidze, Managing Partner / Solicitor Advocate

At Lawlex Solicitors, we don’t just solve legal problems—we anticipate them, sidestep the pitfalls, and deliver results before anyone even knows there’s an issue. Precision is our hallmark, but it’s our foresight and relentless pursuit of client success that truly set us apart. We aren’t just ticking boxes—we’re crafting strategies that align with our clients’ ambitions, ensuring that every move we make is purposeful and leads to lasting impact.   What do you see as the main points that differentiate [law firm name] from your competitors? We believe in paying attention to the small details that often make the biggest difference. At Lawlex, we’re all about understanding what our clients need—not just now, but for the long haul. We’re not trying to compete by being the loudest or the biggest; instead, we focus on being sharp, strategic, and always in tune with the direction our clients want to go. Every solution we offer is tailored to their broader goals, ensuring that our work today sets them up for success tomorrow.   Which practices do you see growing in the next 12 months? What are the drivers behind that? There’s a lot of movement in the realm of international arbitration and dispute resolution, and that’s where we see the most growth for our firm. As businesses operate across borders more frequently, disputes naturally follow. These are complex, cross-jurisdictional issues that require more than just litigation expertise—they need practical solutions and nuanced strategies. As companies grapple with the ever-evolving global market, having the right legal team to guide them through these disputes becomes crucial. It's not just about resolving disputes but about managing the aftereffects, such as asset recovery, where our support continues to play an essential role. The next step, which goes hand in hand with securing an award, is locating the assets to enforce it against. Asset tracing is where the magic happens after the dust settles in a dispute. In arbitration, resolving the dispute is only the first step. Asset tracing becomes critical when it’s time to recover what’s been awarded, especially when assets are hidden or spread across jurisdictions. We approach asset tracing as an integral part of the dispute resolution process, helping ensure that our clients aren’t left with a hollow victory. It’s a challenging area, and while success isn’t always guaranteed, having a plan in place makes a significant difference in turning legal wins into financial recoveries.   What's the main change you've made in the firm that will benefit clients? We’ve embraced technology wholeheartedly, not because it’s trendy, but because it works. By streamlining how we handle documents and communicate with clients, we’ve been able to deliver quicker, more efficient service. No more long waits or piles of paperwork; we focus on making things easier and clearer for our clients, so they stay informed and in control every step of the way.   Is technology changing the way you interact with your clients, and the services you can provide them? Absolutely. The digital shift has allowed us to work closer with clients while giving them more flexibility. We use secure platforms for sharing documents and virtual meetings, which cuts down on unnecessary back-and-forth and lets us get straight to the point. Plus, with some modern developments helping on the research front, we’re able to provide more accurate insights faster than before. This technology gives our clients more freedom to engage with us when and how it suits them.   Can you give us a practical example of how you have helped a client to add value to their business? In international arbitration, winning the case is just the start, isn’t it? The real challenge often comes after, when it’s time to enforce the award. And then you think, “Where are the assets?”—especially if they’re hidden across borders. That’s where asset tracing comes in. It’s not always straightforward, but finding and recovering those assets can be what turns a legal win into something real. It’s one thing to have a decision in your favour, but without proper asset tracing, the result could stay theoretical. When arbitration and asset recovery go hand in hand, the chances of seeing real-world results are far better.   Are clients looking for stability and strategic direction from their law firms - where do you see the firm in three years’ time? Clients want stability, yes—but they also want law firms that can keep up with the times. In three years, we’ll be leading the pack in regulatory compliance and tech law, all while keeping our clients ahead of the curve. Because at the end of the day, the future doesn’t wait, and neither do we. It’s about staying ahead and making sure our clients are ready for whatever’s next.
