Associate

Steve MENDO MBONGO is an associate at NYA & Co. He works in the firm's Corporate and Advisory Department.

He advises on corporate law, banking and finance law, as well as private equity. He also has experience in civil, commercial and labour litigation.

He also advises on capital markets matters, with a particular interest in investment funds, IPO transactions, governance of listed companies, and restructuring of companies in difficulty.

Experiences

Steve started his career as an associate of the law firm Essimi Zibi Georges based in Yaoundé. He then worked in the Legal Affairs and Litigation Department of the National Social Security Fund of Cameroon (CNPS).

Before joining NYA & Co. Steve practiced for a few years in Rwanda where he is registered as a qualified lawyer, as an associate in corporate and land law, notably with Rukangira Law Chambers based in Kigali.

Steve MENDO MBONGO is a member of the Rwandan and Cameroonian Bars.

Steve MENDO MBONGO holds a Diploma of Legal Practice (D.L.P) from the Institute of Legal Practice and Development in Kigali, Rwanda with honours. He also studied at the University of Dschang, from which he obtained a Master 2 in Business and Corporate Law with a specialization in Financial Markets Law with First Class Honours, a Master 1 in the same discipline obtained with First Class Honours, in addition to a degree in Private Law.

He is also a member of the East African Law Society, an association gathering all lawyers and other legal practitioners practicing in the East African Communit.
