Managing Partner

Sarada NYA is the Founder and Managing partner of NYA & Co.

Her practice focuses on corporate law / Mergers & Acquisitions, oil and gas law, new technologies, banking and finance, energy law, commercial litigation and international trade law.

She is an expert in private equity transactions, corporate governance in both advisory and litigation, complex transactional contracts, regulatory law procedures, finance and banking, telecoms, business ethics, business criminal law and compliance policies.

She also advises on capital markets, distribution law, intellectual property law, real estate law and corporate restructuring.

Experiences

After a few years in France where she practiced as a lawyer specialized in corporate law and M&A, notably with the French law firm Courtois Lebel based in Paris, then as an associate in the Corporate department of the Paris office of the English law firm DWF LLP, she decided to return to pursue her career in her home country.

In Cameroon, she developed her practice at Chazai & Partners which she co-founded and where she was the partner in charge of the Corporate M&A and IP/IT department. She then stepped out firm to found her own structure.

Earlier in her career, Sarada Nya also worked in the Corporate & Corporate Finance department of the Paris office of the English law firm Pinsent Mason LLP, in the law firm Pinot de Villechenon & Associés as well as in the law firm Thieffry & Associés, specialised in arbitration, as a lawyer.

She has also worked for several well-known companies, in particular in the corporate law department of Dalkia, in the legal department of Alain Afflelou Franchiseur, in the group legal department of Tarkett, where she was in charge of corporate governance and compliance, and in the general secretariat of the asset management company Axa Investment Managers, where she was a Corporate Governance Analyst.

Association

Sarada NYA is a member of the Cameroon and Paris Bars. She is the treasurer of the Association of Cameroonian Lawyers of France (AJCF). She is an active member of the African Business Lawyers' Club (ABLC), a club dedicated to the promotion of better business practice in Africa, and is also a member of the Cercle des Juristes pour l'Ethique des Affaires (CJEA). Sarada NYA is the President of the French branch of the NGO Believe In Africa, an American association formed by members of the African Diaspora for the promotion and economic and social development of the African continent.

Managing Partner

Sarada NYA holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Business Law from the University of Dundee in the UK, a Master 2 in Business Law and Ethics from the University of Cergy Pontoise, in partnership with ESSEC (Business School) located in Cergy- France. She also holds a Master 1 in contract and company law as well as a Licence in private law from the Université Catholique de Lille.
