Nicolai Clan is a leading practitioner, and his more than 10 years of experience spans numerous litigations in all levels of courts, including 20+ Danish Supreme Court cases, and mediations both as counsel and as a certified mediator.

Nicolai is one of the firm’s founding and name partners.

Nicolai is focused on insurance law matters and dispute resolution, and he specialized in large and complex cross-border matters involving Danish and European law. He is frequently instructed by household name clients in the Danish and international insurance industry and corporate market as coverage, defence, or monitoring counsel in a broad range of business lines, including public and employers’ liability (personal injury and workers’ compensation), third-party motor liability, financial and professional lines (general liability), product liability, and insurance coverage issues.

Nicolai is associated with the University of Copenhagen as an external lecturer in the subject of advanced liability and the law of damages. He is a sought-after lecturer at the Danish Insurance Academy regarding various insurance related courses. Furthermore, he organises and teaches courses for clients and other businesses.

Nicolai is the co-author of The Handbook on Personal Injury (Personskadehåndbogen) III. The book covers how to handle personal injury cases and form the syllabus for courses at the Danish Insurance Academy.
