Position

Robert Weston, who joined mfg Solicitors in April 2010, is a Partner in the Litigation Division based at Kidderminster. He also heads the firm’s Contentious Probate Department, which is one of the largest specialist teams in this area of law in the country.

Within Contentious Trusts and Probate, mfg is a first tier firm within The Legal 500 quoting Robert as ‘extremely good with clients’, and ‘very knowledgeable and commercially aware’.

Robert has more than 30 years’ experience in litigation and undertook his first contentious probate claim in 1988. Robert has litigated in all courts up to and including the House of Lords. He has also been involved in high profile and multi-party litigation one of which was a landmark judgment widely reported in both the legal media and wider press where he successfully defended the claim in Walker and another v Badmin and others [2014].

His area of expertise is contentious probate and claims made under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975. He acts for trust corporations and individuals and receives recommendations from Barristers and other solicitors as a recognised expert in this area of law.

Robert is a member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists.
