Construction and public procurement

Zara assists clients in the construction, infrastructure and energy sectors. She advises and litigates on various procurement and construction law issues, both in the (preparation of the) procurement procedure and during project implementation. Zara's focus includes the supervision of large complex construction projects, such as the PALLAS Reactor and Nuclear Health Centre in Petten and the sewage treatment plant in Den Bosch.

Besides drafting and assessing traditional construction contracts based on the UAV and UAV-GC, she also drafts contracts with far-reaching forms of cooperation such as two-phase (including construction teams), alliances and various contracts applying Cost+ (including NEC4 and FIDIC). She also has knowledge of a variety of real estate-related topics from her previous experience in the real estate transaction practice (specializing in tenancy law).

Zara is a lecturer at Conducto Opleidingen Inkoop & Aanbesteden.

Before Zara became lawyer at Duet advocaten in 2024, she was construction and procurement law lawyer at Croon advocaten (2021-2023). Croon advocaten has ceased to exist as a result of a demerger. Duet advocaten is one of the two new law firms as a result of this demerger.

Zara has also worked as construction and procurement law lawyer (2020-2021) and real estate transaction lawyer (2018-2022) at Houthoff.

Zara is member of the  Dutch Association for Procurement Law (Nederlandse Vereniging voor Aanbestedingsrecht), the Association of Construction Lawyers (Vereniging voor Bouwrecht Advocaten) and the Association of Young Real Estate Lawyers (Vereniging van Jonge Onroerend goed Juristen).

Zara has a Dutch Law degree.
