Norris has significant experience dealing with international commercial disputes in a variety of disciplines as a facilitative, evaluative or transformative mediator.

Norris is widely recognized in the field of mediation, which includes being nominated as one of only 39 “Global Elite Thought Leaders – Commercial Mediation 2023” (Who’s Who Legal) and annually since its inaugural year in 2017 (one of 19 Thought Leaders) – the first Chinese to be on this list. He is the first Asian accredited by the International Mediation Institute and the first Hong Kong lawyer honoured as a distinguished international neutral of the CPR Institute (New York).

He is an accredited mediator (general and family) of the Hong Kong Mediation Accreditation Association Limited (HKMAAL), the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) and the Law Society of Hong Kong. He is also on the panel of assessors for HKMAAL. He is the Chairman of the communications and publicity committee of HKMAAL and past Chairman of the Hong Kong Mediation Council (2003-2006).

Norris has conducted more than 40 accredited mediation courses in Hong Kong and Macau (training senior government officials, lawyers, accountants, doctors, professions and business executives) and frequently lectures at local universities, conducting and teaching mediation courses for Peking University School of Transnational Law (Visiting Faculty), Chinese University of Hong Kong (Adjunct Associate Professor) and the City University of Hong Kong.
